Review brought to you by Lawn Mower Reviews
The Snapper 422023BVE is a powerful riding lawn mower ideal for lawns up to about 2 acres. Unlike other Snapper riding mowers that have cutting decks of between 28 and 33" with only one blade the 422023BVE has a deck that is a much larger 42" with two blades. Although the deck is bigger the overall dimensions of the machine are about the same as the other models.
The engine is a Briggs and Stratton two stroke model with overhead valve. The 5 speed transmission is heavy duty and clutchless. The engine has a full pressure lubrication system for extended life. The fuel filter is easy to remove for servicing and there is an air filter that is of good quality. The engine also has a anti vibration system and overall is built for a long life. The Snapper 422023BVE has options for discharge including side discharge via a chute, bagging with an optional rear bagger or mulching with the optional attachment. Side discharging has been found to be better than the other options for this model.
The turning radius is rather large at 28" which is larger than the average 18" of a lawn tractor or other riding mowers that can be as low as 4".
The The Snapper 422023BVE is a good choice for larger lawns which do not have a large number of turns and when you are planning to discharge the cuttings in preference to mulching or bagging.
Advantages
Powerful, built well, easy to operate, large deck
Disadvantages
Wide turning radius
