Review brought to you by Lawn Mower Reviews
The Snapper 355Z 24/44 lawn mower is well built and is an excellent mower for residential use. It is easy to operate and gives a comfortable ride. At 655 pounds it is lighter than many lawn mowers of this type.
The Snapper 355Z 24/44 has a versatile cutting deck and an advanced hydraulic system that give a smooth ride. The sophisticated suspension is superior to many similar mowers and the frame is similar but the comfort of the ride is far superior. The cutting deck adjusts from 1 1/2" to 4 1/2" in seven increments. Above 3" there is some uneveness of cut on hills but at all speeds on level surfaces the cut is even.
The transmission is smooth when accelerating or decreasing speed. As long as you are not going too fast awkward turns on low hills will not result in divot as the anti-scalp wheels are well placed. The deck adjusts adequately when driving over bumps although some shudder is present when driving over deeper bumps. The handling, as on all Snapper zero turn mowers, is very good.
There are a good range of attachments although they are pricey. A triple bag collector is available and an optional mulcher . There is also a small dump cart available.
The tank is large at 6 1/2 gallons, enough for a full days mowing without being so large that it adds unnecessary weight.
Advantages
Powerful engine, light, compact, very smooth ride
Disadvantages
Can be bouncy on rough areas, some shake in cutting deck on higher settings, expensive attachments.
